Wenmar Beef Shorthorns presents our Lovely Family of beef shorthorn cattle. Our aim is to breed quality bulls and heifers suitable to carry the breed forward onto the next generation. Wenmar Beef Shorthorns are members of PCHS, and all our cattle carry a very high health status. We are fully accredited for IBR and BVD, plus Johnes Level 1 and Neospara Level 1.
Photo taken August 2022. Lovely L292 caught my eye when she was offered for sale in September 2021 at Stirling. She had a cracking roan calf by Millerston Kasper at foot and was back in calf again to Kasper. She produced us another roan heifer in 2022 and is giving everything to that calf as well. We have put her back in Calf this year to Mayfield North East Legend, fingers crossed for another good calf in 2023.
Myostatin status ZERO
Photo taken August 2022. Lovely S52 is a similar calf to her sister at the age of Coxhill Lovely R713. R713 was a major factor in the reason that we considered purchasing her mother Coxhill Lovely L292. Both calves were sired by Milerston Kasper who was sold at Stirling for 20,000 Gns in February 2018. This female line is going to be a valued addition to our herd. It would be nice to think that either S49 or R713 could one day produce a bull as good as their sire.
Photo taken August 2022. We purchased Lovely R713 with her mother in September 2021 from the Coxhill reduction. She was born in late May and we tend to judge her harshly against our older heifers in her group. She is progressing well for her age and I think in the end of the day she will make a useful addition to our herd.
