Donor Cows

We now own a small herd of very select Beef Shorthorn donor cows out in Canada. The cows are all owned in a partnership and reside in Saskatchewan, Western Canada. They live on a farm and rear calves naturally for the vast majority of their productive lives. We are not using the cows every year for ET work. We are now able to offer our customers a unique opportunity to breed their own embryos.

  • Select your chosen donor cow (below)
  • Select your type of bull, that you would like to use as the sire of your embryos
  • Decide your target number of embryos you would like

We will then give you a fixed price quote, for what you would like. If you then wish to proceed, all that we will require is a deposit from you. We will then pay for and arrange everything else including embryo collection, testing and export documentation, and finally shipment into the UK.

Waukaru Red Nan 1049

Waukaru Red Nan 1049 was purchased by us at the Waukaru sale in 2016. She was one of the choice cows at the sale. Red Nan 1049 is a daughter of the great Waukaru Patent, and is a full sister to Waukaru Orion who has outstanding EPD's; ranked in the top 1% for weaning weights and the top 2% for yearling weights. Red Nan has outstanding style, and is long deep bodied cow with a fantastic clean shoulder, top line, good feet and legs. All of these traits with her breeding will be passed onto her offspring with which ever sire used.

Shadybrook All Perfect 5E

Shadybrook All Perfect 5E was in my mind the standout heifer at the Shadybrook sale in the autumn of 2018. Every time we walked around the sale offering she just stood out as a tremendous heifer. Her maternal side goes back to the great cow Shadybrook Picture 201M. She was sired by the great bull Spry'sAll Gold D052; what more could you ask for? 5E is a very milky cow and has proved herself as a good mother, and is now ready to enter our ET program. I have only one problem, which bull to try her with first! My thoughts are to try HC Bluebook or Podehole Beefeater.

HC Leading Lassie 5G

Leading Lassie 5G was bought in a group of embryos at Waukaru farms sale a few years ago; she was part of a group of four. I was the underbidder on her mother at the same sale Waukaru Lassie 2024. She had the highest EPDs in the USA at that time. The sire of the embryos was Shadybrook Qantas who required no introduction to me. I have seen his stock for some years now around Canada and here in the UK. From the four embryos we were fortunate to get a very good bull calf and a heifer 5G, a dream come true! We decided to retain the heifer, 5G, and sold the bull for $10,000 who is now working with a herd in Western Canada. Leading Lady 5G is going to take some stopping in years to come. I just wish that she was over here with us in the UK.

HC Sparkle Delight 20B

HC Sparkle Delight 20B is one of our largest and deep bodied cows in our donor team. She is from the renowned Sparkle Delight family line at Horseshoe Creek, and certainly is one of Grant Alexander's favourites. Her mother, HC FLSparkle Delight 2X, is a similar type of cow but roan, 20B's colour like as not comes from her sire Waukaru Orion 2047. Orion recorded some of the best performance figures in the US. I was lucky enough to see him on one of my visits to Waukaru. He was a bull with volume, good locomotion and a lovely nature. All of the Sparkle delight family that I have seen carry the great depth and volume that 20B exhibits. She was a great addition to our donor team.

HC Lady Margie 26G

Lady Margie 26G is exactly what we were looking for when we selected the breeding of 1E to Elderado. What a great heifer she is turning out to be; I can't wait to see her first calf! Using Eldorado with his depth of proven breeding from HC Free Spirit and the Melba Niam female line at Horseshoe Creek, looks to have blended well with the Australian genetics. The only question is where next to develop this strong cow family line? Maybe i will try flushing her with some Podehole Beefeater semen that I have stored in Canada. That should give two options of a possible stock sire or a new female line here in the UK.
